Afternoon Workshops with a World Champion Dancer!

BALBOA & LINDY HOP

Todd Yannacone is a New Orleans-based world champion swing dancer who has competed, performed and taught at the highest levels. He’s visiting his hometown San Francisco at the end of August, and we’re extremely excited to host him for a fun program of afternoon workshops to challenge and inspire you!

4 hours of instruction each afternoon

Levels and Requirements:
Saturday Balboa: Students must be able to dance the Balboa basic, up holds and down holds, come arounds and toss outs
Sunday Lindy Hop: Students should know the 6- and 8-count basic footwork, swingouts, lindy circle, tuck turns and side passes

We will hold a short level check dance at 160 BPM at the start of each afternoon to help ensure level consistency. Students not meeting the class requirements will be offered a refund. If you’re not sure about your experience level, please email us!

For Intermediate & Advanced Dancers.
20 couples max per class.
No partner needed to sign up.

Workshop costs:
Saturday All Afternoon (Balboa): $72 early registration by Wednesday, August 16. $80 full price online. $88 door.
Sunday All Afternoon (Lindy Hop): $72 early registration by Wednesday, August 16. $80 full price online. $88 door.
Full workshop, Both Days: $135 early registration by Wednesday, August 16. $150 full price online $165 door.

Super early bird registration for first 5 leaders and 5 followers to sign up: $60 – 1 afternoon only, $120 – both days

COVID Policy:
Vaccination is recommended. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
Refunds or future credits will be offered for students who fall sick on the day of the workshop.

About Todd

Todd Yannacone has taught Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag, Charleston, Vernacular Jazz, and other jazz era dances both nationally and abroad since he was 16. His love and appreciation for various forms of swing dancing allows him to bring innovative versatility to the dance floor while simultaneously respecting the roots of each dance. He has been honored for his contributions by being inducted into both the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame and the Camp Hollywood Hall of Fame. He holds countless titles from such prominent competitions as – The International Lindy Hop Championships, The European Swing Dance Championships, The American Lindy Hop Championships, The U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships, The National Jitterbug Championships, The Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, Lone Star Championships – to name a few. Todd has been interviewed for Swing Dancer Magazine, “The Track” podcast, and various other publications. His demand as an instructor, performer, and judge has taken him to hundreds of festivals spanning 32 countries and five continents. He specializes in connection and musicality, which is apparent every time he steps on the dance floor. He has worked with dance and music legends alike – from Frankie Manning to Aretha Franklin – and is a member of the acclaimed dance troupe, the Silver Shadows.
