Swing Rueda Resources

Swing Rueda is a dance developed around 2000 by dancers Elaine Hewlett and Jeff Miller in Dallas, Texas. They adapted the 1950s Cuban Salsa Rueda that they had studied in Miami, Florida to incorporate lindy hop movements. It is a circle dance in which couples dance and change partners in sync with each other, responding to directions from a designated caller. In addition to using common lindy hop moves like the swingout and basic turns, it has a playful vocabulary of movements with amusing names like “Coca Cola”, “Boing Boing”, and “Amoeba.”
